Free Gifts in CuteCube
Everyone loves free gifts. It is a common feature implemented in many games out there which keeps players coming back. Especially when the free gifts are not easy to come by. We decided that this feature should be in our games too and since CuteCube just launched recently as Open BETA, it is a good time to test.
We had a few ideas on how the feature should be done. There were simple ones like pop-up windows to show your free gift of the day. But we wanted something more fun and exciting. Then came an idea of rolling a dice. We thought it was quite cool since CuteCube was based on a cube.
One of our developers is a crazy fan of the Papervision3D library so he suggested we should allow the player to “roll” the dice and see it in a cool 3D rotation motion. The idea was developed into a prototype which you can try out below:
Usually gifts come in boxes or parcels and rarely you know what you’re getting. This usually gives the players an element of surprise if it is a real physical item. Instead of hiding the gifts, we thought of showing you what you may get. You can actually see all the sides while it is rotating. This makes getting free gifts more interactive, fun and really exciting!
We expect to launch this upcoming feature in the coming weeks or days while we still discuss other upcoming features. Let us know your say so we can make the game even more fun
